workshop: On Producing and promoting accessible shows
May 13, 11am
This workshop, led by Crip Rave, is designed for artists, cultural producers, and promoters who want to strengthen accessibility in music culture and the wider industry. Together, we’ll build a toolkit for creating live-music experiences that center access for organizers, talent, and audiences alike.
We’ll work through the practical side of accessible event production and promotion, from talent engagement and relations, to choosing the right venue, to handling day-of logistics. We’ll also explore the multi-sensory nature of live music as an access point in itself, and share approaches to pre- and post-event communication, accessible design, and how to clearly convey accessibility information to your audience.
