Esssena
Toronto-based with placeholding ties in South and South East Asia, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Middle East, Esssena creates sound reflecting the invisible and innumerable lines, breaths, and crossings between worlds. Through her electronic compositions built upon excavated field recordings, left-field textures, and intuitive resonances, Esssena is the means to and for creating sonic islands full of interiority.

is a Tsuut’ina/Amskapi Pikanii/Saddle Lake Cree multidisciplinary artist, and musician. This life changing event has been a driving force in their creative work and activism. They are one half of the artist duo tīná gúyáńí (Deer Road) with their mother, Glenna Cardinal. tīná gúyáńí was longlisted for the Sobey Art Award in 2022. seth is currently recording and performing music as their project sadbirthdays which will release an album in 2026.
